Youth Career Exploration Camps


Explore Fire and Emergency Response Service Careers
Young people ages 12-17 with an interest in being a firefighter can join the McKinney Fire Department for five days of classroom and field instruction. Camps will be held at the Wysong Central Fire Station #1 at 301 N. McDonald St.

Applications for Camp 2 are open until July 29. Registration for Camp 1 is closed. Classes are limited to 12 participants. The camp fee is $25 for residents and $40 for non-residents. Fee includes T-shirt, breakfast, lunch, snacks and transportation costs.
  • Camp 1 - July 18-22, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Registration closed
  • Camp 2 - August 8-12, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Registration open until July 29
