McKinney celebrates Independence Day with Red, White and BOOM!

Make your Fourth of July holiday as festive as apple pie at the City of McKinney’s Red, White, and BOOM! celebration. Independence Day kicks off with free family activities, live entertainment and a spectacular fireworks show. Families can also explore the many dining and shopping options that Historic Downtown McKinney has to offer.

Start the day in Historic Downtown McKinney at the hometown parade. Floats will exhibit the theme of patriotism or McKinney pride. Following the hometown parade, stop by the classic car, truck and cycle show.

In the evening, festivities continue at the McKinney Soccer Complex at Craig Ranch as Prophets and Outlaws takes the stage to provide entertainment. The fireworks show will be choreographed to the “Sounds of America” by WRR and simulcast live on Classical 101.1.

Event schedule for Tuesday, July 4

Historic Downtown McKinney

  • Hometown Parade: 10 a.m.
  • Yankee Doodle Block Party: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Classic Car, Truck & Cycle Show: 1–5 p.m.

McKinney Soccer Complex at Craig Ranch, 6375 Collin McKinney Pkwy.

  • Family activities and food: 5:30-9:30 p.m.
  • Concert by Prophets and Outlaws: 8-9:30 p.m.
  • Fireworks: 9:45 p.m.

All Red, White and BOOM! activities are free and open to the public. Residents are encouraged to enjoy the professional fireworks display at Red, White and BOOM! as fireworks are not allowed within the city limits without a permit. Also, for the safety of pets and other guests, pets are not allowed at the events at McKinney Soccer Complex.
