Jose R. Madrigal joined the City of McKinney as Deputy City Manager in July 2013 and served as Deputy City Manager with Authority / Interim City Manager from March – May of 2014.
Jose has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Master of Public Administration from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. Prior to coming to McKinney, Jose served as the Strategic Services Team Director / Assistant City Manager for the City of Irving, Texas. His career also includes serving as an Assistant City Manager in Cedar Park, Texas and as Assistant to the City Council in Lubbock, Texas.
Jose has worked on various economic development and public transportation projects in addition to legislative initiatives at the state and federal levels. He has served various appointed positions, including President and Vice President of the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter, Texas City Management Association (TCMA) Ethics Committee member and TCMA Region VII Treasurer.
Jose expanded his professional education by being selected and completing the Public Executive Institute from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin. In addition, Jose completed Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Training and served on the 2012 Malcolm Baldrige Board of National Examiners. In 2013, he was named a Young Rising Latino in Dallas by Latino Leaders Magazine. Jose continues to be an active member of the Texas and International City Management Associations.
Jose and his two young children live in McKinney.
