Enjoy Fireworks Safely this July 4th
The McKinney Fire Department urges residents to enjoy fireworks safely this Fourth of July by attending locally sanctioned fireworks shows like the Red, White and BOOM! Celebration, presented by trained professionals who adhere to strict fire safety codes. Youth Career Exploration Camps
Explore Fire and Emergency Response Service Careers
Young people ages 12-17 with an interest in being a firefighter can join the McKinney Fire Department for five days of classroom and field instruction. Camps will be held at the Wysong Central Fire Station #1 at 301 N. McDonald St.

Applications are due July 11, and classes are limited to 12 participants. The camp fee is $25 for residents and $40 for non-residents. Fee includes T-shirt, breakfast, lunch, snacks and transportation costs.
  • Camp 1 - July 18-22, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Camp 2 - August 8-12, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
