Day Trips

Rough Riders Game | Sept. 7

Join us for a night of baseball at the Dr. Pepper Ballpark in Frisco. Register by Aug. 31.

State Fair of Texas | Oct. 5

It is time to see Big Tex himself! With both morning and afternoon trips you will have plenty of time to eat a corndog and a funnel cake. Register by Sept. 28.

Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden | Dec. 18

Trip Policies

Effective August 1, 2023

Payment: Trip payment must be paid in full at the time of registration. Method of payment is credit card only. Spots will not be held without payment

Participation Requirements: Participants must be aged 50+ and a registered McKinney Senior Recreation Center Member (MSRC) to participate in Senior Recreation Center trips, unless otherwise noted.

Registration Deadline: Participants must sign-up for a trip before the posted registration deadline date. Trips may be canceled if there are not enough participants registered by the registration deadline.

Waitlist / No-Show Policy: If a trip is full, a waitlist will be available. Participants on the waitlist will be called in order of registration in the event of participant cancellation. Participants will be contacted before the trip to confirm attendance. Please arrive at the MSRC at the scheduled time. If a participant is going to be late, please call the front desk. If a participant is not present within 10 minutes after the scheduled time and has not called the front desk, they will be considered a no-show and forfeit a refund. 

Refunds and Withdrawals: No refunds will be issued 14 days prior to the scheduled trip, regardless of the cost. If a trip is canceled by the MSRC, participants will be issued a full refund. If you need to withdraw from a trip, you may not give your registration spot to another person - please inform the front desk staff of your withdrawal request so we can contact customers on the wait list. An authorized doctor's note may be considered for a refund.

Special Accommodations: For special accommodations (including special bus seating and wheelchair or walker accommodations), please contact the McKinney Senior Recreation Center at (972) 547-7491 before registration.

Trip Transportation: The MSRC does not provide transportation to and from customer homes. Customers are responsible for ensuring that they have transportation to and from the center. Participants must use the transportation provided for trips and cannot use their own form of transportation.
