About the Downtown Dollars Program

The Downtown Dollars program is a simple gift certificate program that unifies and promotes the Historic Downtown McKinney business community.

Downtown Dollars each have a $5, $10, or $20 value and are accepted around Historic Downtown McKinney in exchange for $5, $10, or $20 worth of goods and services.

How to Participate

Accept Downtown Dollars at your Business

It’s free to participate! Download the Agreement Form and email the completed form to Main Street.

All Downtown Dollars used at your business will be redeemable through McKinney Main Street at 100% of face value. By signing up as a participating business you will be included in the promotional materials surrounding the program, and customers will be encouraged to spend at your business. Each participating business will be given a small display sign indicating their participation. You will be reimbursed for the full value of all Downtown Dollars you receive, email Main Street to receive a check.

Buy Downtown Dollars

Purchase them yourself, use them as bonuses for your employees, thank you gifts for your faithful customers, or however you choose to take advantage of the program. Downtown Dollars can be purchased at the McKinney Performing Arts Center.

Be Creative

Think of special promotions in conjunction with Downtown Dollars and we’ll help promote it, or gift them to employees or special customers as a thank you.

*Downtown Dollars have no expiration.

Terms & Conditions

  • Downtown Dollars are valid and redeemable for goods and services at participating businesses in place of cash for stated value. 
  • Downtown Dollars never expire. 
  • All Downtown Dollars sales are final. No exchanges or refunds. 
  • The City is not responsible for any Downtown Dollars that are lost, stolen or damaged. 
  • Downtown Dollars cannot be redeemed for cash or used to purchase other gift certificates. 
  • Downtown Dollars cannot be used or redeemed toward previous purchases. 
  • Merchant participation and product available subject to change at any time. 
  • All sales subject to terms of participating merchant. 
  • Any photos taken, or audio or video recorded during Downtown Dollars events may be used for future marketing materials without notice or consent.
