All city buildings, recreational facilities and libraries are closed to public access indefinitely with the following exceptions:

  • City Hall lobby
  • Police Department lobby
  • McKinney Air Center lobby will allow access to:
    • Pilots and Passengers of arriving or departing aircraft
    • Customers who have a set appointment with airport staff

Municipal Court

The McKinney Municipal Court is postponing all dockets, hearings and trials indefinitely. If you are scheduled for an appearance or trial before a judge or jury please contact the court for alternative options by email or call 972-547-7676. Parks and Recreation

The McKinney Parks and Recreation centers and play structures are closed. Residents are encouraged to enjoy the parks and trails system while maintaining social distance standards.

Trash / Recycle Services

Beginning Monday, March 23 - In an effort to reduce the risk of solid waste workers’ exposure to COVID-19, the city’s trash and recycling vendor Waste Connections will temporarily suspend pick-up of bulky items, yard waste and Household Hazardous Waste (HHW).  Waste Connections will honor currently scheduled collection requests until March 27.



Public Meetings

  • City Council meetings will continue as scheduled
  • McKinney Economic Development Corporation, McKinney Community Development Corporation, Visit McKinney, the McKinney Housing Finance Corporation, Planning and Zoning, and all advisory board meetings are canceled until further notice.
