Subject: Transition to Electronic Plan Submittal and Inspection Request System – BETA TEST
The McKinney Fire Marshal’s Office (FMO) is transitioning from a manual permitting and inspection request process to a new computer-based system, which is currently used by our building department. This system is known as Energov - Customer Self Service (CSS).
CSS will allow customers to use a single online system to apply for permits, submit plans, and receive review comments; request inspections, receive results, and maintain documentation; make applicable payments; and manage multiple projects on the customer’s dashboard. We feel the integration into CSS will help facilitate the entire permitting and inspection process, create greater transparency between the FMO, other city departments, and the customer; as well as, saving valuable time by eliminating the need to physically come to the FMO.
Beginning June 22, 2020, the FMO will be initiating the BETA testing of our integration into the CSS system using the fire alarm companies as our test subjects. We are prepared to walk you through the process as we also learn the system. During this time, we ask for your patience as we will also remain patient with you.
