Issued Citations

If you were issued a citation, you have 20 working days from the date the citation was issued to enter a plea, pay your fine and costs, or set a court date. If you have been released on a bond, you must appear according to the terms of your bond: failure to do so may result in a bond forfeiture lawsuit being filed against you and a warrant being issued for your arrest.

I received a citation, now what do I do?

Adults Have Three Basic Choices:

• You can pay the fees
• You can contest the ticket and go to court
• You can keep the ticket off your record in three ways:
  • Driving Safety Course
  • Deferred Disposition
  • Dismissal in the case of a ticket for a broken tail light or expired registration for example
