The City of McKinney requires that you have an alarm permit if your alarm system summons law enforcement. The annual fee is $50 for residential permits and $100 for commercial permits. 


Police officers respond to thousands of false alarms annually. These unnecessary responses result in an enormous burden in manpower and expense, which reduces the resources that could respond to a real emergency. Permits help reduce false alarms.


We offer three convenient, secure ways to pay. If you have a current alarm permit with the City of McKinney, please wait to pay until you receive your annual renewal notice by mail or email.
