Computer Services

Access to the computers requires either:

  • Valid McKinney Public Library card
  • One day guest pass

Hours:

  • Sunday: 1 - 4:45 p.m.
  • Monday - Thursday:  10 a.m. - 8:45 p.m.
  • Friday - Saturday:  10 a.m. - 5:45 p.m.

Software:

  • Windows 10 operating system
  • LibreOffice (Microsoft-compatible programs for word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations)

All computers offer:

  • Adobe Reader
  • Web Browsers: Microsoft Edge,  Firefox, and Google Chrome
  • GIMP image editor
  • USB ports
  • Black & white and color printing 
  • Windows Media Player
  • NVDA screen reader for the blind and vision impaired

Wi-Fi Access

  • The Library's wireless network is named "Library Public." Select it from the list of available wireless networks on your device.
  • The Library provides and maintains this wireless network as a public service. Customers are responsible for setting up and configuring their own equipment.
  • Signal strength and quality can vary by location.

Scanning & Faxing

Our self-service Document Stations:

  • Print documents created from public computers.
  • Scan documents to a USB device or email.
  • Send faxes. Note: Faxes cannot be received at the library. 

Fees:

  • Scanning: Free.
  • Sending a Fax: $.25 per page and requires cash or coins.
