McKinney Swim School
The McKinney Swim School offers programs suitable for all ages. We are committed to providing swim lessons that offer quality instruction, build confidence, and teach water safety skills in a safe environment.

Fall 2023 swim lessons will be available to McKinney residents for online registration on August 4, 2023. Non-residents will be able to register on August 15, 2023.
In-Person / Phone registration will be available to everyone on August 15, 2023.
To register online for Swim Lessons, select 'Aquatics' from the box options on the front page, then select the bolded 'Sections' under the class you wish to enroll in.
Class Descriptions
Swim 100 (Parent & Child)
This class provides you and your child an introduction to fundamental water skills and pool safety through educational songs and games. Each session has 8 classes. Register for Swim 100
Swim 101
This class teaches the fundamentals of floating, breath control, and swimming on the front and back, along with proper water entries and exits. Each session has 8 classes. Register for Swim 101
Swim 102
This class builds students' independence in swimming backstroke and front crawl while emphasizing basic rotary breathing. Each session has 8 classes. Register for Swim 102
Swim 103
This class is for students who can swim 15 yards of backstroke and front crawl with basic rotary breathing. In Swim 103 students improve rotary breathing, build endurance, and learn elementary backstroke. Each session has 8 classes. Register for Swim 103
Swim 104
This class is for students who can swim 25 yards of backstroke and front crawl. In Swim 104 students increase endurance, refine stroke technique, and receive an introduction to breaststroke and basic turns. Each session has 8 classes. Register for Swim 104
Swim 105
This class is for students who can swim backstroke, front crawl, and breaststroke a minimum of 50 yards. In Swim 105 students build endurance, increase stroke proficiency, and learn butterfly and flip turns. Each session has 8 classes. Register for Swim 105
Junior Lifeguarding
This class is designed for children ages 10-15. Students entering this course must be able to swim 50 yards front crawl, 50 yards back crawl, and 25 yards breaststroke. Students will be tested on the first day of the class.
The Junior Lifeguarding class teaches elements of a lifeguarding certification, including water entries, basic first aid, and an introduction to CPR. Participants will also continue stroke refinement, developing speed and increasing endurance through strength, distance, and drill training. This is NOT a certification course. Adult Swim
This class is designed for individuals ages 13 and older who would like to learn and/or improve upon their current swimming skills.
Students will be evaluated on the first day of the class and divided into separate groups according to their skill level. Each session has 8 classes. Register for Adult Swim

Learn skills for swimming, water safety, and interacting with peers through adapted and individualized teaching methods designed for individuals with varying abilities and needs. There is an emphasis on communication between parent and instructor in order to make the most of each lesson. Once you have registered for the class, call the Aquatics Coordinator to schedule an assessment for class placement. Each session has 4 classes. Register for Adapted Aquatics
