Krewe of Barkus

2019 Krewe of Barkus

When: Sunday, March 3

  • Participants check in at Mitchell Park at 12.30.
  • Parade begins promptly at 2 p.m.

Historic Downtown McKinney
111 N. Tennessee St.
McKinney, TX 75069

2019 will be our 17th annual successful run, and Krewe of Barkus promises to be a howling hoot. In past years, more than 250 dogs participated in the parade alongside more than 4,500 spectators in awe of costumes, creatures and creativity.

Patterned after the Mystic Krewe of Barkus in New Orleans, which was established to help abused and abandoned canines, Krewe of Barkus will feature a parade, vendor booths, interactive activities and more.

2019 Theme

The theme for 2019 will be centered around a genre of television that has infiltrated our culture and become wildly popular.  If you are old enough to remember Candid Camera and What’s My Line, or if you are a fan of Survivor, Jersey Shore, Fear Factor, American Idol, Top Chef or The Bachelor/Bachelorette – you are in luck!  On March 3, Canines are Keeping it Real – A Barkus Salute to Reality TV
