McKinney Black History Month Celebration: Portrait Unveiling and Reception

A Celebration of McKinney's Black History
Join us as we recognize Black History Month by honoring institutions and individuals that have made contributions to the McKinney community, particularly the Black Community. The evening concludes with a special unveiling of portraits of prominent Black leaders and a showcase of rare photos and artifacts from McKinney's past.

This Year's Honorees
Ross Cemetery, E.S. Doty School, United Day Nursery, McKinney Housing Authority, Leonard Evans, Jr. Middle School, Jesse McGowen, Jr. Elementary, Albert and Iola Lee Davis Malvern Elementary, Reuben Johnson Elementary, Holy Family School, North Texas Job Corps, the City Council Legacy of Willie James Wattley, Poetry of Ms. Jessie Polite, Collin County Black Chamber of Commerce, NAACP and Hwy 5, which has a life of her own.

This event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided.
