Wild Adventures on the Jurassic Tour (All Ages)

Thursday, June 10, 2021

Are you ready for some dino-mite fun at the library? Join us for a hands-on exploration of fossils and dinosaurs with our friends at the Heard Museum. Embrace your inner paleontologist at a dinosaur dig, identify mysterious tracks and put your scientific skills to the test at our STEAM stations. Aspiring scientists will be roaring for more!

•11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Join in on a fossil dig, identify tracks on the Dinosaur Trail and
create some Dino Slime to take home! There will be plenty of
dinosaur-themed crafts and a special appearance by the library’s
very own pet dinosaur, Theresa Rex!

• 11:30 a.m.; 1 p.m. – The Heard Science Museum (limited to 100 people) *
Listen to a presentation about Texas fossils and dinosaurs. Find out
what the environment was like back then and which Texas regions
the dinosaurs called home.

• 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. – Fossil Touch Tables
Examine fossils like ammonites, mammoth teeth and mosasaur
bones at the Heard Museum’s Fossil Touch Tables.

*All June 10 activities except Heard Science Museum are come and go, with no registration required. Heard Science Program tickets will be offered on a first come first serve basis on the day of the event, and in accordance with guidelines published in the Summer Program Guide.
