Fire sprinkler helps save McKinney restaurant

The McKinney Fire Department (MFD) responded to a kitchen fire at Thai Noodle Wave, 2775 S. Central Expy., shortly after the restaurant closed Sunday night. Firefighters arrived to find the fire extinguished by the kitchen hood fire suppression system and one sprinkler head. The most significant damage was limited to the cooking area.

“The kitchen hood fire suppression system and the fire sprinkler made all the difference,” said McKinney Fire Marshal Mike Smith. “Without the proper safety equipment, this incident would have been much more destructive.”
