New public parking available in downtown McKinney

Visitors of downtown McKinney now have more parking options now that 200 parking garage spaces and more than 100 on-street spaces are now available for public use now that construction Davis at the Square, the mixed-use development at the southwest corner of Davis Street and McDonald Street, is mostly complete.

An additional 125 spaces will be available on nights and weekends upon the completion of the adjacent Playful Corp. headquarters office building.

Additionally, construction of the parking garage on the corner of Chestnut Street and Herndon Street is underway. The five-story parking structure with 310 spaces is scheduled for completion in early January. City Council approved a lease agreement with a private developer for the construction of the garage, whereby the city will own the garage at the conclusion of the five-year lease period.
