Unofficial McKinney special election results

McKINNEY, Texas (Nov. 4, 2020) – McKinney residents cast their ballots in a special election to vote for or against two propositions. 


Proposition A (passed): Proposition A asked voters if La'Shadion Shemwell should be removed from the office of McKinney City Council Member (District 1) by recall.


Proposition B (failed): Proposition B asked voters if the city is authorized to sell certain park property, being 55.234 acres of land located approximately 0.6 miles east of S.H. 5 on Harry McKillop Boulevard and 0.25 miles south on Couch Drive, in the F. T. Duffau Survey, Abstract No. 287, McKinney, Collin County, Texas.


The City of McKinney will canvass the Official Election Results after the Collin County Elections Department has certified the final votes. Notice of the canvassing meeting’s date and time will be posted 72 hours in advance online and on the meeting bulletin at City Hall.
