City Council selected M2G Ventures LLC to design and develop the properties in downtown McKinney
McKINNEY, Texas (Jan. 5, 2024) – During the regular meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 2, the City Council selected M2G Ventures LLC as the preferred development team to partner with the city to redevelop city-owned properties in McKinney’s historic downtown.
M2G Ventures LLC has worked with several cities in the DFW region on infrastructure development and public-private partnerships, including Fort Worth, Plano, Frisco, Arlington, Addison and Colleyville.
“We had three highly qualified finalists who shared their incredible vision for our downtown. After careful consideration, we are thrilled to announce that we will partner with M2G Ventures on the future of these properties. Their experience in other historic revitalization developments, including the Ft. Worth Stockyards, and their commitment to crafting a plan that fits with the existing charm of our unique downtown, makes them an ideal partner to begin revitalizing this important area of our city,” said Mayor George Fuller. “In the coming months, we’ll be holding additional conversations with their development team to refine the vision and land use for what will be most successful in the area.”
The city issued a request for qualifications (RFQ) earlier this year to identify a partner to redevelop city-owned properties that will be vacated when the new McKinney City Hall opens in early 2025, including the Development Services building and the current City Hall. Presentations from each development team were made at a public meeting in November, and the public was asked to share feedback on the proposals.
