1. What are the minimum eligibility requirements to test for a position as a firefighter with the McKinney Fire Department?

Must be 18 years of age by the date of hire and possess a high school diploma.

• Applicants with an honorable discharge from the military as documented on the DD2-14 and who pass the written exam with a minimum passing score will receive an additional five points for military service.
• Neither Basic Firefighter Certification nor EMT / Paramedic Certification are required to apply. Must successfully complete all pre-employment testing. Must obtain valid Texas Class B driver's license within sixty days of hire, possess a good driving record and maintain a good driving record while employed.

2. Where do I find the McKinney Fire Department Personal History Packet?

The Personal History Packet will only be available when we are accepting applications.
