Randy Roland has more than 30 years of law enforcement experience. Chief Roland began his career with the Dallas Police Department in 1989 and has a range of experience in patrol, special events planning, mounted patrol and police communications. Currently Chief Roland is second in command of the department with direct responsibility for the Field Operations Division which includes Patrol, 9-1-1 Communications Division and several specialized units including SWAT, Mounted and Canine.
Chief Roland is a graduate of the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Administration and Disaster Planning. He also graduated from the FBI National Academy and the Institute of Law Enforcement Administration Command College.
Chief Roland is married to Dr. Sandy Roland and has two grown children, Regan and Parker.
